On Sunday, Doug, K and I took a trip to our local beach (about 2 hours from our home) We ended up taking a back road which led us to Niagra Fall...in Oregon.
We were on a back road, a road that neither of us had ever been on and as we were driving we saw a little sign on the side of the road that said...Niagra Falls 5 miles. Okay, that was enough to get us to back up and head down a gravel road to see what sights there were. The road wasn't too bad, not very many potholes when we finally arrived at our destination....just about.
We came to the picture at the top and still had a 1 mile hike to see what we had come to see...It was a great hike...mainly a downward hike. And came to Niagra Falls. It was a small falls, no like the real Niagra Falls or even our local Multnomah Falls. But it ended up being pretty and a nice sight. But, as you might remember...what comes down, must come up (okay, this is reverse, but it still works)...and we had a mile hike back up to the minivan...Oh well, atleast it was just a mile. We finally got back to the minivan with red heated faces and 2 blisters (one on each of my feet) and then took the rest of the drive to Tillamook to have burgers at the cheese factory. And some great ice cream for dessert.
It was kind of fun to tell people that we had just come from seeing Niagra Falls today. They would kind of look at us funny and so we had to explain it to them.
It was a fun day!!

Great Blog! As soon as you told the massive Blogger world that it was a "mainly a downward hike" I said to myself "Yeah, but you gotta come back up!" And, alas, you DID! But what a great way to end a nice hike . . . burgers and ice cream— which is, I believe, the best ice cream in the world!
Jen and the kids are coming tomorrow ... getting ready for our "grandkid fix!"
