This Memorial Weekend, K had the honor of placing flags on the graves of soldiers who had been in any of the wars that our country had faught for. It was a very solumn time and one that our family won't soon forget.
For those that have never been involved with this we met up with our other Packs from our District. D or I didn't realize how big of a community event this was for the scouts. We met first for a program which lasted a good half hour. Then after the program our boys were assigned a certain area--section F--and started planting the flags. For each headstone we were supposed to put the flag in the ground, sweep any leaves from it and then say his or her name and salute the soldier. K didn't miss saluting any of the soldiers.
This very rainy evening was great for us to remember those that have kept us safe.

Oh my gosh! What a wonderful and memorable opportunity for you all. I had a few tears rolling down my cheeks just picturing K saluting those soldiers who gave their lives for our freedom. Awesome, K. Thank you!
